"Holes" (2003), 8 p.m., Disney Channel. Here's a rarity — a brilliant family film that grown-ups can savor with their kids. A boy is sent to a work camp that seems to focus only on digging holes. Then secrets emerge. Shia LaBeouf stars. In support are Sigourney Weaver, Jon Voight, Patricia Arquette and more.

"Hope & Faith" season-opener, 8 p.m., ABC. Last season ended with Faith (Kelly Ripa) at the airport facing two wedding proposals. One was from TV host Larry (Dean Cain), the other from baseball player Gooch (Mark Consuelos, Ripa's real-life husband). We learn her answer then get the repercussions.

"Gladiator" (2000), 5 p.m., TBS. A Roman epic, with brilliant direction from Ridley Scott and an Oscar-winning performance by Russell Crowe. It took the Oscar for best picture.

"The Bernie Mac Show," 7 p.m., Fox. Bernie foolishly makes an athletic wager with Charles Barkley.

"Malcolm in the Middle," 7:30 p.m., Fox. When the family takes a road trip, young Malcolm is dazzled by a hippie-style healer in the desert. Rosanna Arquette, sister of Patricia (who just won the Emmy in "Medium"), plays her.

"Twins," 7:30 p.m., WB. Mitchee wants her dad to quit referring to her in guy-like ways.

"Three Wishes," 8 p.m., NBC. In the second episode of this likable reality show, wishes are granted in Clovis, N.M.

"Inconceivable," 9 p.m., NBC. The second episode, like the first, tends to be overwrought. It ranges from more goofball humor to a screeching final scene. This show, about a fertility clinic, nudges Angie Harmon into the story and comes up with a way to deal with the real-life pregnancy of Ming-Na.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. An elaborate scheme uses kidnapping to get diamonds.
