UH signs running back from Germany

Advertiser Staff

Malcolm Lane, a running back from Hanau High School in Germany, has signed a national letter of intent to play football for the University of Hawai'i.

Lane is 6 feet 2 and 185 pounds and has been timed running 100 meters in 10.4 seconds.

He competed in a league for military dependents in Europe, and he rushed for 27 touchdowns and more than 2,000 yards this past season.

Michael Strahan and Shaquille O'Neal also played in the same athletic league.

UH received his letter of intent last week, the last day of the spring signing period.
