Man reports alleged vehicular attack

Police opened an attempted murder investigation Saturday after a 32-year-old man reported that when he attempted to stop a driver who had apparently caused a traffic accident, the driver tried to run him down as he fled the scene. The man who reported that the incident occurred at about 1:05 p.m. said the man who tried to hit him was driving a white car and appeared to be in his 30s.



Alleged shoplifting incident ends in scuffle

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the Waikele shopping center last night on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Police said that shopping area security officers reported seeing the man remove several items from a shelf and walk out of one of a store about 6:20 p.m. without paying for the goods. When the security guards tried to detain the man, a physical confrontation occurred and the suspect tried to overpower the guards, police said.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree robbery.



Teen reports alleged knife threat

A 19-year-old man was arrested in Mililani yesterday afternoon after he allegedly threatened to stab an 18-year-old woman.

The woman told police when she confronted the man about a debt he owed her, the man held up a knife and threatened to harm her.

Police were called and arrested the man on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.



Police spot punching incident

Police arrested a 16-year-old girl Saturday evening at a convenience store in Wai'anae after they watched her walk up to a car and reach in to allegedly punch a 48-year-old woman in the face.

The officers were at the store conducting an unrelated investigation when the incident occurred about 7:20 p.m.

Police arrested the girl on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, a felony offense, for allegedly reaching into the car without permission.



Woman IDs two men in alleged sexual assault

Police arrested two men, ages 23 and 26, after a 26-year-old woman told police the men sexually assaulted her Saturday afternoon at a beach park in La'ie. Police arrest the pair about 3:05 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault and kidnapping.



Pizza delivery man reports gunpoint holdup

A 33-year-old man told police he was robbed at gunpoint Friday night while attempting to deliver a pizza in Kailua.

The delivery man told police a stranger approached him on foot about 11:30 p.m., drew a gun, pointed it at him and demanded his money and cellular telephone. The robber then ran away, and the delivery man returned to the pizza parlor to report the incident, police said.
