LEGEND HERE MAY 6

Grammy winner John Legend headlines "A Salute to Our Troops" concert beginning at noon May 6 at Kapi'olani Park. Other entertainers will join Legend in the musical tribute to Hawai'i-based military. There's also a parade at 9:30 a.m. from Fort DeRussy, along Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki. All are invited; admission is free.

'NU' SURF FILM APRIL 29

The surf film "NU The Movie" makes its world premiere April 29 at Pipeline Cafe. The film features young surfers Ola Eleogram and Carissa Moore and veterans including Kelly Slater, Bruce and Andy Irons and others; and offers footage from Bali to western Australia. "NU," by the way, is pronounced "new."

Doors open at 6 p.m.; the first screening will be at 7 p.m. for all ages; a 9 p.m. screening is for those 18 and older. Admission is $12 general. www.naluunderground.com.

HAPA HEADLINES CONCERT
