HTY is casting for six productions

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Theatre for Youth is seeking full-time paid actors for six productions in the upcoming 2006-07 season, its 52nd.

Eric Johnson, resident artistic director, is beginning his second year with HTY.

He will hold auditions from 5 to 8 p.m. April 19 and 20 at Tenney Theatre, home of HTY, on the grounds of St. Andrew's Cathedral, at Beretania and Queen Emma streets.

For details and to schedule an appointment, call 839-9885 or e-mail htyauditions@gmail.com.

Walk-in auditions may be possible, but priority will be given to those with appointments.

Those auditioning should prepare two memorized, contrasting monologues, each about a minute long, plus a short song segment and a brief demonstration of other skills, such as acrobatics or playing an instrument.

Callbacks are scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. April 23 at Tenney Theatre.

Actors are sought for these shows: "Snow White," "A Thousand Cranes," "Sport," "Christmas Talk Story 2006," "The Stones," "Choice" and "The Magical Bird: A Fabulous Filipino Folk Tale." Some shows will tour, so time commitments are involved.
