With a title like "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," this Stephen Sondheim show is not for the little ones. But it makes for an unusual musical thriller of revenge and murder, set in dark Victorian England.

Maui Onstage presents it at the Iao Theater in Wailuku — 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 5 p.m. Sundays, through April 30. Tickets are $20 general, $18 for those 65 and older and students; all Sunday tickets are $15. (808) 242-6969, www.mauionstage.com.

By the way, O'ahu's Army Community Theatre will be launching its own version of "Sweeney" in September at Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter.
