Advertiser Staff

Central Union Church hosts the ecumenical Good Friday service, with the theme "The Seven Last Words of Christ," which includes brief meditations given by seven pastors of various Christian traditions on the words spoken by Christ from the cross as recorded in the Gospels.

The worship service starts at noon on Friday and will include musical presentations by the 19-voice Hawaiian Mission Academy Chorale directed by James Dean Woods, plus the Gospel Hula halau The Master's Touch from Olivet Baptist Church, instrumentalists, vocalists and the Pohnpeian Fellowship choir.

The service will begin at noon in the Parish Hall and end with a benediction in four languages.

A meditative Walk of the Cross begins at Thomas Square at 11 a.m. and proceeds to Central Union. Free parking is available on the diamondhead side of the church.
