A fire heavily damaged an auto repair shop in Kailua late last night.

The fire at Sumida's Body and Paint shop at 39 Ho'olai St. was reported at 10:08 p.m. The first firefighters on scene found the top floor of the business engulfed in flames.

The fire was brought under control at 10:26 p.m. and extinguished about 15 minutes later, said fire Capt. Gary Lum.

The cause of the fire and a damage estimate were not yet determined. There were no reports of injuries.
