Two-hitter by McDaniel, Sloan lifts MPI to win

Matthew McDaniel and Austin Sloan teamed on a two-hitter as host Mid-Pacific defeated Pac-Five, 9-1, yesterday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game.

Adam Tamashiro batted 4 for 4, including a double and a solo homer, and drove in four runs for the Owls, who improved to 4-2 and moved one game behind league-leading Iolani (5-1).

Chad Takabuki and Aaron Fujiki added two RBIs apiece.

Cameron Bayne pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts to carry the Crusaders to an ILH victory.

Rick Miyamoto's RBI groundout and Jason Fukumoto's sacrifice fly accounted for Saint Louis' runs in a game that was scoreless through four innings at Ala Wai Field.

Ikaika Ayers pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts to lift the host Bulldogs to an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division win.

John Miyasato hit a two-run single in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.

Miyasato also drove in a run in the third with a sacrifice fly that scored Chauncey Nicola, who had tripled.
