Teachers will experience the fish auction, tour longline and bottomfish vessels, participate in discussion with industry members, learn how to prepare Hawai'i's fish from chef Nicholas Chaize, chef-owner of Nico's Restaurant, and receive educational resource materials.

HOW COLLEGE DEGREES PAY OFF

Q: What is the average income for students graduating from postsecondary institutions compared with those graduating from high school?

A: In 2002, male college graduates ages 25 to 34 earned 65 percent more than men who graduated only from high school. Women ages 25 to 34 with a bachelor's or higher degree earned 71 percent more than female high school graduates. Men who dropped out of high school earned 23 less than male high school graduates; female dropouts earned 27 percent less than women who graduated from high school.

HELP FOR PARENTS OF SPECIAL-NEEDS KIDS

A parent resource fair featuring a presentation on "How to Help Your ADHD or Special Needs Child with Completing Homework" is planned for Tuesday. There will also be student performances, door prizes, free dinner and childcare, plus a variety of information booths. The event is sponsored by the West Honolulu Children's Community Council.

When: 5 to 7 p.m.

Where: Roosevelt High cafeteria

Who: All parents of special needs children, particularly those from the Roosevelt, Farrington and McKinley High communities.
