Hawaii sweeps BYU in volleyball

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team swept Brigham Young University Friday night, 30-14, 30-21, 30-21.The Warriors, ranked second in the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Top 15 Poll, managed a hitting percentage of .547 compared to the Cougars' .078.
Jose Delgado had 14 kills while Lauri Hakala had 13 and Matt Carere 11 as Hawaii raised its overall record to 22-4. The Warriors improved to 18-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Ivan Perez had eight kills to lead No. 4 BYU (18-7, 14-7).
The teams were to meet again Saturday night in the regular season finale for the Warriors.
