Advertiser manager honored by Gannett
Mike Cusato, The Honolulu Advertiser's vice president of circulation, was named the runner-up circulation Executive of the Year by Gannett Co. Inc. for a number of achievements, including his role in helping to strengthen The Advertiser's market position and creating a highly successful weekend subscription.
Cusato, 57, was named the top circulation executive in Gannett in 2001.
"I appreciate the award but this is the kind of recognition that you only receive when your staff shares and supports your vision," Cusato said. "This is recognition for the efforts of the entire circulation department team. Our efforts are focused on taking care of our customers. Excellent customer service is the basis for the success of our business."
Cusato has been The Advertiser's vice president/circulation since 2001 and served in the same capacity for the Hawaii Newspaper Agency since 1998. Before that, he spent 31 years with the Washington Post in various circulation and production management positions.
He serves on several boards, including the Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation, the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, the Hawaii Chapter of the American Red Cross and Sheraton Bowl Hawaii.
