Boy, 12, suspected of assaulting, spitting at teacher

Police arrested a 12-year-old 'Ewa Beach boy yesterday at an alternative state Department of Education school in Pearl City after the boy allegedly assaulted a 39-year-old teacher about 8:55 a.m.Police were told that the boy was disrupting a class and the teacher told him to stop. Instead, the boy kicked the teacher in the shin, and then removed his shoe and threw it a the teacher, who was walking away, striking him in the head, police were told.
The teacher said that when he went back to try to talk with the student about his behavior, the boy spit in his face.
At that point, police were called to the school and arrested the student on suspicion of second-degree assault.
