Contamination signs remain posted on five beaches

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Health continues to call for the posting of warning signs at waters at five locations on O'ahu due to sewage contamination.

The sites on O'ahu are Ala Wai Canal, Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor, Ala Wai channel, Kane'ohe Beach Park and Kokokahi Beach.

DOH official said the signs at these site will probably remain for the rest of the week.

"There's no indication of these signs coming down any time soon," said Kurt Tsue, DOH spokesman.
