Several road projects may slow traffic

Several road projects could slow afternoon commutes today, so you may want to choose an alternate route, if possible, while the state Department of Transportation completes its construction.

— The right Wahiawa-bound lane of Kunia Road between the H-1 Freeway and the South Kupuna Loop will be closed through tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for drainage work. In addition, possible lane closures may occur along Fort Weaver/ Kunia Road in the Ewa Beach direction between Waipahu Street and Honowai Street through tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

— Erosion control work has closed a single lane closure in the westbound direction along Farrington Highway between Old Fort Weaver Road and Leoku Street. The work continues from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m through tomorrow.

— Single lane closures may occur in the both direction along Kalanianaole Highway between Castle Junction and Kapaa Quarry Road through tomorrow, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for traffic signal installation and pavement striping.

— Various single lane closures will be implemented in both directions along the H-1 Freeway between the Middle Street Tunnel and the Airport Interchange through tomorrow, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail and attenuator construction. Road crews will also be doing work in the area of the H-1 Freeway, westbound, Dillingham on-ramp.

— Resurfacing work has made for single-lane closures along Halawa Heights Road near Camp Smith from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through tomorrow. Possible single lane closures will be implemented along Halawa Heights Road between Ulune Street and Fernridge Place, in the vicinity of Camp Smith for median curb work and roadway widening. In addition, the right makai bound lane of the Kahuapaani Overpass will be closed through tomorrow between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for bridge work.

— Both shoulder lanes along Puuloa Road from Kamehameha Highway to Salt Lake Boulevard will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. through tomorrow for utility work. Possible lane closures may also occur in various directions along Puuloa Road, Salt Lake Boulevard and Pukoloa Street through tomorrow between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for gas line work. In addition, a single lane closure may occur in either direction along Puuloa Road between Salt Lake Boulevard and Kamehameha Highway today through tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility line work.

— Lane closures along Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn will be in place through Friday for resurfacing work. One lane of traffic in either direction will be closed and contra-flowed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Work to resurface the eight-mile stretch of highway is expected to run until June. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra time or to take an alternate route.

— The Likelike Highway Wilson Tunnel will be completely closed in the Honolulu-bound direction from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. through early Saturday morning for median barrier work.

— The H-3 Freeway will be completely closed in the Kane'ohe-bound direction from 7 p.m. tomorrow to 7 a.m. Saturday for tunnel cleaning and routine maintenance. Motorists are advised to use caution while taking alternate routes and to allow for extra travel time.
