  • "American Dreamz": A satire with two targets, "American Idol" and President Bush, not in that order. Hugh Grant plays the producer and star of an "Idol"-like TV show, and Dennis Quaid is the president whose Cheneyesque chief of staff (Willem Dafoe) is a puppet master. Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery 18 Theatres, Ward Stadium 16, Pearl Highlands 12, Pearlridge West 16-Plex, Kapolei 16-Plex, Mililani 14-Plex, Ko'olau 10-Plex, Windward Stadium 10, Prince Kuhio Stadium Cinemas (Big Island), Makalapua Cinemas (Big Island), Maui Mall Megaplex Cinemas (Maui).   • "Friends With Money": Three rich friends (Catherine Keener, Joan Cusack and Frances McDormand) are married, not entirely successfully, but despair for their friend, played by Jennifer Aniston, who is "single, a pothead and a maid." Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery, Ward, Maui Mall. (R)

  • "The Sentinel": Michael Douglas plays a veteran Secret Service agent who is having an affair with the first lady (Kim Basinger).   • "Silent Hill": Based on the video-game survivor series. Sean Bean and Radha Mitchell star in a horror tale about a woman who journeys into another dimension to retrieve her daughter.
