Russ and Randy Boyer win top SBA award

The U.S. Small Business Administration's Honolulu office, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i, yesterday honored Russ and Randy Boyer of Aloha Lumber Co. Inc. in Kapa'a, Kaua'i, with its 2006 statewide award for small-business person of the year.

At the awards luncheon at the Ilikai Hotel, other winners included:

  • William J. Hughes and Dana H.Y. Chun of King Food Service Inc. — small-business person of the year, O'ahu.

  • David Miyake of Miyake Concrete Accessories Inc. — small-business person of the year, Maui County.

  • Margaret Pahio and Shon Pahio of HMP Inc. (dba Business Services Hawai'i) — small-business person of the year, Hawai'i County.

  • Brian I. Kitagawa of I. Kitagawa and Co. — entrepreneurial success of the year, statewide.
