Ten tons of sand, underwater film, aerial acrobatics ... once again, Iona Contemporary Dance Theatre offers a magical mystery tour full of oohs and ahhhs — this time titled "Electric Blue" and dedicated to environmental awareness on this Earth Day weekend.

Iona founder and artistic director Cheryl Flaharty's latest creation has been previewed on beaches around the island since December. For its Hawai'i Theatre presentation, the piece again takes place in an ocean environment — thus, the sand — as the dancers tell of the human relationship to water. Dancers also interact with huge images projected in the background.

"Electric Blue" continues at 8 p.m. today and 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Hawai'i Theatre. Tickets are $25 to $45. 528-0506, www.hawaiitheatre.com.
