Police Beat: Wrench assault alleged

A 17-year-old girl was arrested yesterday after she allegedly whacked her 22-year-old boyfriend over the head with a wrench.

The pair got into an argument at 8 a.m. yesterday in the 87-700 block of Farrington Highway, police said. During the argument, the girl grabbed a crescent wrench and hit her boyfriend over the head, opening a gash that required medical attention, police said.

Responding patrol officers arrested the girl on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Woman reports car was rammed

A 28-year-old Kalihi man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly rammed his ex-girlfriend's car, police said.

The man's 21-year-old ex-girlfriend was stopped at a traffic light in Kalihi at 1:30 p.m. yesterday when the man drove into the intersection from another street, police said. Seeing the woman, the man drove his car right into hers, police said.

The woman tried to evade the man but was unable to do so and he rammed her car four more times at three different locations, police said. The woman finally got away and called police.

Neither the woman nor the man was injured and the man was arrested on suspicion of five counts of first-degree criminal property damage, police said.

Baggage stolen from visitor

A 42-year-old woman was arrested in Waikiki yesterday after she allegedly stole baggage from a visitor.

A 24-year-old woman reported several bags missing from a storage room at the hotel where she was staying.

At 1:30 p.m. yesterday, the visitor ran into the older woman, who allegedly was walking through the halls carrying some of the visitor's belongings, police said.

The younger woman confronted the other, who then took the bags she was carrying and threw them down a laundry chute, police said.

Responding patrol officers arrested the older woman on suspicion of second-degree theft and an outstanding bench warrant.
