Four women killed in Kunia crash identified

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified the four women who were killed yesterday morning in a traffic collision on Kunia Road near the Royal Kunia subdivision in Waipahu.The four women were among 10 people who were riding in the bed of a pickup truck that swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a silver sedan that witnesses said was attempting to pass a ready-mix concrete truck in a no passing area about 7:35 a.m.
The Medical Examiner's office identified those who were killed in the crash as:
Aquilina Polendy, 57, of Waipahu.
Ana Sacalamitao, 46, of Waipahu.
Gertrudis Montano, 59, of 'Ewa Beach.
Lorna Laroco, 53, of 'Ewa Beach.
Police are asking for witnesses to the collision to call traffic investigators at 529-3499.
