Advertiser Staff

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified the four women who were killed yesterday morning in a traffic collision on Kunia Road near the Royal Kunia subdivision in Waipahu.

The four women were among 10 people who were riding in the bed of a pickup truck that swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a silver sedan that witnesses said was attempting to pass a ready-mix concrete truck in a no passing area about 7:35 a.m.

The Medical Examiner's office identified those who were killed in the crash as:

— Aquilina Polendy, 57, of Waipahu.

— Ana Sacalamitao, 46, of Waipahu.

— Gertrudis Montano, 59, of 'Ewa Beach.

— Lorna Laroco, 53, of 'Ewa Beach.

Police are asking for witnesses to the collision to call traffic investigators at 529-3499.
