Signs remain posted at five O'ahu beaches, harbors

Advertiser Staff

Five O'ahu beaches and harbors and one harbor on Kaua'i remain posted with signs warning of contaminated water, caused by sewage spills brought on by heavy rains last month.

The state Department of Health posts the signs, which warn people not to swim or fish in the area because exposure to the contaminated water may cause illness.

Areas posted around O'ahu are the Ala Wai Canal, Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Ala Wai Channel, Kaneohe Beach Park and Kokokahi Beach.

On Kaua'i, the Kikiaola Harbor remains posted.
