Hale named Punahou hoops coach

Hale, a three-time Advertiser All-State center for Punahou (1979, 1980, 1981), moves over from Moanalua, where he was named Coach of the Year in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's Eastern Division this past season.
He replaces Greg Tacon, whose contract was not renewed after five years at the helm.
