Information sought in Big Island school break-ins

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person or persons responsible for two burglaries at Waimea School.

The first burglary occurred sometime between the night of April 7 and the morning of April 9. The burglars went into a portable classroom and took a silver GO VIDEO DVD/VCR player, an E-machine computer with flat screen monitor and other items.

The second burglary occurred sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. The burglars again went into a portable classroom and took a 27-inch Sharp color television, a silver GO VIDEO DVD/VCR player, an E-machine computer with flat screen monitor, four computer speakers and a Lahaina koa wood four-string ukulele.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Andres Fojas or Officer Ivan Tamura at the South Kohala Police station at (808) 887-3080. Those who want to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 in Hilo or (808) 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
