Manoa Valley Theatre auditions male actors for the June 28-Aug. 6 production of the musical comedy "Pageant," 7 p.m. May 7 at the theater. Men should be prepared to walk a runway in high-heeled shoes (bring your own shoes), sing, dance and read from the script. Script perusal and additional information: 988-6131.

Honolulu Broadway Babies auditions for the August production of "Broadway Mixed Plate: Fresh Off the Boat," 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 13, HMC Karaoke, room 1, 'Aiea. Adults in all vocal ranges for a 24-person choir and for children, ages 7-13, for a 12-person children's choir, are asked to prepare a 16-bar vocal selection and a one-minute monologue and bring a head shot and resume. Walter's Karaoke offers opportunities to compete in the 3rd annual Hawai'i Region National Talent Quest Karaoke Contest, a preliminary to the national contest Sept. 23-Oct. 1 in Laughlin, Nev. Visit one of several O'ahu karaoke venues between now and July 16 to qualify for the Aug. 6 Honolulu contest. Must be available to travel to the nationals for cash prizes.
