Presbyterians to hold block party

Mililani Presbyterian Church holds its eighth annual Block Party from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the church, 95-410 Kuahelani Ave.

The Saturday event includes entertainment by Mililani New Hope's Praise Dancers with additional dance performances by a Samoan youth group, a Korean praise band and 7 Simple Pieces, a local reggae band. Free food includes hot dogs, chili and rice. Keiki can enjoy clowns, balloons, face painting, a dunking booth and a giant bouncing castle.

NU'UANU KRISHNA CELEBRATION SET

The Hare Krishna Temple, 51 Coelho Way in Nu'uanu Valley, is holding its Sri Krishna Janmastami, a celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Sri Krishna, from 5 p.m. to midnight Aug. 16.

There will be traditional devotional music and dance, a Baby Krishna Look-a-like Contest for keiki, bathing of Lord Krishna and a free meal.

Offerings of fruit, flowers and incense will be accepted.
