Breezy weather to continue through week

Advertiser Staff

The key weather feature for the next week or so will be the breezy — and occasionally gusty — trade winds coupled with rain showers here and there, according to the National Weather Service.

All in all, not bad for this time of years, when hot, humid days are always a possibility when the trades "break down."

A persistent high-pressure ridge far north of the islands is expected to keep moderate to fresh trades blowing into the weekend and beyond, forecasters said.

Clouds embedded in the trades will bring a few showers mainly to windward and mauka areas, primarily during later evening and early morning hours.

On tap for the next several days:

Today, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 75 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain, 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 78. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain, 20 percent.
