WATSON RESIGNS AT UH

Gabe Watson has resigned as director of basketball operations for the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team to accept a head coaching position at Life Pacific College (Calif.).

Watson will be the men's basketball coach and athletic director at Life Pacific, which is in the National Christian College Athletic Association.

"It's a new challenge I'm looking forward to," Watson said.

Watson was Hawai'i's director of basketball operations for the past two seasons.

Hawai'i head coach Riley Wallace said he expects to fill the vacant position before October.
