HECO working to restore electric power in Hau'ula

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Company Inc. workers are attempting to restore power to 350 customers in Hau'ula after a vehicle collided with a HECO power pole.

The 1:11 p.m. accident at 48-377 Kamehameha Highway, near Waikane Store, initially left 700 customers without power.

Service has been restored to about half of affected HECO customers, a company official said.

The accident left customers in parts of Kaneohe with a momentary outage.

Traffic is being contraflowed along Kamehameha Highway.
