Police Beat: Man allegedly spits in officer's face

A 19-year-old man was arrested in Hawai'i Kai last night after he allegedly kicked one police officer in the shins and spit in the face of a second officer.

Police said the man became disorderly while being detained for questioning.

He was arrested about 6:45 on suspicion of first-degree assault of a police officer and harassment of a police officer.

Police said a small packet containing a green, leafy substance resembling marijuana was found on the man at the receiving desk and he was also arrested on suspicion of third-degree possession of a detrimental drug.

Man arrested for allegedly beating up ex-wife's new boyfriend

A 44-year-old Mililani man was arrested yesterday evening after he allegedly entered a home with out permission and assaulted his estranged wife, 41, and her new boyfriend, 22.

Police were called to the home on Oliliko Street about 7:20 p.m. and arrested the husband on suspicion of first-degree burglary and abuse of a family of household member.

Counterfeit cash leads to woman's arrest

A 19-year-old woman was arrested about 3:15 p.m. yesterday after she allegedly tried to cash three fraudulent money orders at the Wal-Mart store on Ke'eaumoku Street.

Police arrested the woman on suspicion of three counts of second-degree forgery.

Woman trying to cash forged check arrested

A 35-year-old woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly tried to cash a forged state of Hawai'i check at a bank in Kalihi.

Police said a cashier who was helping the woman noticed discrepancies with the check and called police.

Officers went to the bank and arrested the woman about 5 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree forgery.

Suspect accused of reaching in, punching man in car

A 56-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident on Sunday in which a 28-year-old man reported being punched in the face as he sat in his car about 5 p.m. in front of his house.

The younger man told police the other man approached his car, reached inside and struck him several times in the face.

The suspect was arrested about 10 p.m. at his home on Loli'i Street.
