Three Hawai'i teams win in World Series play

Three Hawai'i youth baseball teams won Tuesday in World Series action on the Mainland.

At Aberdeen, Md., Hilo defeated St. Mary's County, Md., 12-0, to stay unbeaten in its poll in the Cal Ripken tournament for 12-year-olds.

Hilo is 3-0 and in first place in its pool. The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinals on Friday.

At Taylor, Mich., Pearl City defeated North Cumberland, N.J., 5-4 in the Little League Juniors for 13- to 14-year-olds.

Pearl City, which lost 9-0 in its opener Sunday and did not play Monday, is 1-1 in pool play.

At Bangor, Maine, Pearl City beat Regina, Saskatchewan, 7-3, in the Little League Seniors for 14- to 16-year-olds.

Pearl City is 3-0 in pool play.
