Pearl City edges Virginia in Juniors World Series

Chace Numata got his first hit in three games of the Junior League World Series lifting Pearl City to an 8-7 victory over Alexandria, Va., on Wednesday at Taylor, Mich.

Numata hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 7-all tie. Robert Brown pitched a perfect seventh to preserve the victory.

With a 2-1 record in pool play, Pearl City remains in contention for the championship. Pearl City plays South Bend, Ind., on Thursday in its final pool play game.
