Police Beat: Suspect arrested for sexual assault of teen

Police arrested a 23-year-old man yesterday as a suspect in a sexual assault complaint filed by a 13-year-old girl.

The girl told police the man befriended her in Mililani on the evening of Aug. 5, then escorted her to a secluded area where he assaulted her.

Police said the girl positively identified the man, who has no local address, in a photographic lineup.

He was arrested yesterday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of third-degree sexual assault and kidnapping.

Suspect in traffic incident arrested at OCCC

A 39-year-old man was arrested at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center yesterday as a suspect in a threatening incident earlier this month involving a 42-year-old man.

The older man told police he was involved in a traffic incident with the younger man and pulled over to the side of the road near Wahiawa to argue with him.

He told police that the younger man pulled a blade-like object and threatened him with it. He said he got in his car a left but the younger man followed him in his car. The older man told police the younger man intentionally struck his car twice with the one he was driving.

The older man later identified the suspect via a photographic line-up and he was arrested yesterday on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Woman arrested for unlawful entry into motor vehicle

Police arrested a 25-year-old woman in Whitmore Village last night after she allegedly reached into two vehicles and removed items that did not belong to her.

Two men, ages 53 and 33, told police the woman appeared to be very intoxicated and that she reached into their vehicles and removed items that belonged to them. Police were called and the woman was stopped nearby carrying property that the two men said was their's.

Police arrested the woman, who has no local address, on suspicion of two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, a felony.

Man arrested for knife assault in Chinatown

A 34-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly slashed a 50-year-old man in the arm during an altercation in a Hotel Street bar.

Police were told the younger man was arguing with the bar owner when a customer intervened and told the man to leave.

The younger man took out a pocket knife and swung at the bar patron, causing a small cut to the patron's left arm.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the younger man on suspicion of second-degree assault.

The older man was taken to Straub Clinic and Hospital where he was treated and released.

Suspect arrested after allegedly firing gun at man

A 22-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly fired a shot at a 24-year-old man in a home near Sunset Beach.

The man who filed the complaint told police he was running out of the home when the shot was fired.

Police went to the home at 59-272 B Kamehameha Highway and arrested the younger man on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder.

Husband arrested after allegedly forcing bank withdrawal

Police arrested a 52-year-old Kailua man last night after his 43-year-old wife told police he assaulted her and forced her to withdraw a substantial amount of money from her bank account.

Police arrested the husband about 8 p.m. on suspicion of second-degree robbery and abuse of a family or household member.

Teen, 17, suspected of sexually assaulting 8-year-old girl

A 17-year-old Kapolei teen was arrested yesterday afternoon as a suspect in a sexual assault reported by an 8-year-old girl.

The girl told police she was assaulted about 5 p.m. June 21 by a family member.

The boy was arrested in connection with the complaint and was later released without charges pending further investigation.

Suspect arrested for attacking, injuring woman

A 44-year-old woman was arrested yesterday in connection with an assault complaint filed by a 48-year-old woman.

The older woman told police the younger woman attacked her about 9 p.m. June 8 in Wai'anae, causing her to fall over a short wall and break her leg.

The woman told police the alleged assailant ran away before officers arrived.

Police caught up with the younger woman yesterday and arrested her on suspicion of second-degree assault.
