Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i's unemployment rate fell to 3.0 percent in July from 3.1 percent in June on a seasonally adjusted basis, the state Department of Labor reported today.

That compared with an increase in the national unemployment rate to a seasonally adjusted 4.8 percent in July from 4.6 percent a month earlier.

Maui County's unemployment rate — 3.1 percent on an unadjusted basis — was the lowest in the state. Honolulu was next at 3.2 percent, followed by Kaua'i at 3.3 percent and the Big Island at 3.9 percent.
