Sensley cut by German national team

Former University of Hawai'i basketball standout Julian Sensley was the last player cut from the German national team today.

Germany is scheduled to begin playing in the FIBA World Championships on Sunday in Japan.

Sensley, a 6-foot-9 forward, had been practicing and playing in exhibition games for Germany since mid-July. Teams can bring only 12 players to the World Championships.

"There were just lots of things going on in his head, and he couldn't concentrate on the things he needed to," Germany head coach Dirk Bauermann said on a team Web site.
