Maui police seek leads in Macy's burglary

Advertiser Staff

Maui police are looking for an unknown number of burglars who broke into Macy's in Ka'ahumanu at 9:45 p.m. Monday and stole $57,246 worth of fine jewelry.

Police believe the burglar or burglars hid inside the store until after closing time, smashed the jewelry display case and stole Gucci, Movado and Coach watches.

Surveillance cameras were not filming at the time and it is unknown how the burglar escaped, police said.

Police are asking anyone who sees the watches or has more information about the crime to call Maui Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966 or Honolulu Crime Stoppers at (808) 955-8300.
