Pearl City reaches Senior League championship game

Pearl City advanced to the championship game of the Senior League World Series for the second consecutive year with a 7-3 semifinal victory over Bloomfield, N.J., Friday at Bangor, Maine.

Pearl City (5-0) faces Paraguana of Venezuela (5-0) in the title game. Paraguana defeated York County (Va.), 11-1 in the other semifinal.

Carlton Tanabe and Bryson Nakamura each had two hits for Pearl City, which was the Senior League World Series runner-up last year.

Jason Rasa was the winning pitcher, spacing 10 hits, striking out five and walking three in seven innings.

Bloomfield went out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but Pearl City scored four runs in the third and three in the fourth to seal the victory.
