Watabu ousted at U.S. Amateur

Trip Kuehne of Dallas defeated Kaua'i's Casey Watabu, 2 and 1, in the second round Thursday of the U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.Watabu, 22, kept the match close but went 2 down when Kuehne birdied the par-5 15th hole. The match ended when both players parred the par-3 17th hole.
Watabu, of Kapa'a, won the U.S. Public Links Championship last month.
