IT CONTRACTORS, AGENCIES TO MEET
Representatives of some of the largest federal contractors, as well as officials from several federal agencies, are to speak at a conference on information technology Aug. 31 through Sept. 1 at the Sheraton Waikiki.
Organized by the Hawaii Small Business IT Hui, the conference will include representatives from Lockheed Martin, Computer Sciences Corp. and L-3 Titan Group. The departments of Defense and Veterans'Affairs also will be represented at "HSBIT Forum 2006: Where the Business Is."
$250M DEFENSE DEAL ANNOUNCED
AT&T Government Solutions Inc. in Honolulu has received a maximum $250 million contract to provide tele-communications services for the Department of Defense in Hawai'i.
The six-year deal can be extended by up to four years. The contract was awarded by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization-Pacific.
CITY PLANS SEWER REVENUE BONDS
Honolulu is planning to sell $332.6 million in wastewater-system revenue bonds to pay off some existing debt and pay for work on O'ahu's sewer system. The bonds are to be insured by MBIA Inc. and are to mature from 2007 to 2032. UBS AG is managing the sale, which includes five separate series of debt. Fitch rates the debt AA-, fourth-highest of 10 investment grades.
