After being closed for six months for major renovations, including an upgrade of its greens to TifEagle grass, the Waikele Golf Club will officially reopen Sept. 1.

Improvements include the clubhouse, which now has a new restaurant, Sushi-Ten.

"We're delighted with the outcome of this renovation project," said Ben Neeley, Waikele's senior vice president. "These renovations will definitely enhance the playability of the course and the overall golf experience at Waikele."

Designed by Ted Robinson, the par-72, 6,663-yard course opened in 1993.

Its signature hole is the par-4 fourth with a strategically placed lake guarding the green.
