In 1926, city supervisors approve plans for a water system for Dowsett Highlands.

1929: The Advertiser reports that Honolulu's new mile-long waterfront park at Ala Moana will be filled and ready for beautification within the next year and a quarter. Litigation by the Ward interests had held up the park project for a year.

1971: The Pacific Maritime Association refused to consider Mayor Frank Fasi's plea that special ships be provided to carry badly needed supplies to the Islands. The West Coast dock strike was in its 57th day. Meanwhile, grocers suggested residents use more fresh vegetables because supplies of canned goods were dwindling.

2001: O'ahu wins the championship game of the Babe Ruth World Series in Hamilton, N.J.
