Q&A FORUM FOR CANDIDATES SET

The public is invited to meet and question the 10 Democratic candidates in the 2nd Congressional District at a Political Speed Campaigning Forum at Kapolei High School at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The event will also be televised live on KFVE starting at 7 p.m., with coverage provided by sister station KHNL News8's news team.

The first 150 people to arrive will be separated into 10 groups, and the candidates will make their rounds, offering 8 1/2-minute question-and-answer periods.

The event, sponsored by the Democratic Party of Hawai'i, will be held in the high school's cafeteria.

10,000 CRANES FOR AKAKA ON DISPLAY

Supporters of U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka's re-election have folded 10,000 paper cranes that will be on display at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i today.

The crane represents good fortune and longevity in Japanese culture. The event is from 5 to 7 p.m.

Akaka is facing U.S. Rep. Ed Case in the Democratic primary for Senate.
