2002: A Japanese two-man submarine is found on the ocean floor off Pearl Harbor by University of Hawai'i researchers. It was believed to be the first casualty of the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor.

2005: The West O'ahu Little League team wins the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.
