Advertiser Staff

Island Air will launch a new daily round trip flight between Kaua'i and the Big Island beginning Sept. 5.

The new direct flight linking Lihu'e and Kona is the first any airline has offered between the two destinations in over 10 years, Island Air said.

"Our goal is to continue to invest in the community by making traveling between the islands easier, and this new route provides a convenient non-stop option for our customers," said Les Murashige, Island Air chief operating officer.

Pacific LightNet to stream Billabong surf contest

Pacific LightNet will provide streaming video of the upcoming Billabong Junior Pro surf contest.

The five-year-old company said it will use a high-speed, point-to-point live video feed originating from their building in downtown Honolulu to the Kewalo Basin contest location.

The contest waiting period runs Aug. 26 through September 1. Pacific LightNet will use a mobile wireless trailer on-site connected to the various cameras to provide live images that can be viewed at http://kewalos.billabongpro.com.
