Police Beat: Teen arrested in pistol theft incident

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in Waipahu yesterday after he allegedly forced a 15-year-old boy to give him a 9 mm pistol.The younger boy reportedly found the gun, which belongs to his father, in a garment bag at his home. He brought it to school and and was bragging about it, police said. The older boy confronted the younger boy off-campus and took the gun away, police said. The older boy later reportedly sold it on the street for $60.
He was arrested about 2 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree theft.
Police looking for man in tie to knifepoint robbery
Police this morning were looking for a 25-year-old man in connection with a complaint filed by a 26-year-old man who said he was robbed at knifepoint yesterday afternoon in Waikiki.
The man who filed the complaint said the other man approached him about 4:30 p.m., brandished a knife and demanded money, police said. The older man told police he turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the robber who then ran away.
Man reports gold neck chain robbery
Police were looking for two men yesterday after a third man claimed the pair robbed him of a gold neck chain in Wai'anae yesterday morning.
The man who filed the complaint told police the two men confronted him, took the chain and drove away about 6:30 a.m. He said he followed the two men, who are known to him, in his own car and pulled up next to them but backed off when one of the suspects pointed a gun at him.
Police classified the incident as first-degree robbery.
Driver arrested in tie to stolen vehicle, drug offenses
Police arrested a 22-year-old man in Windward O'ahu yesterday on suspicion of multiple offenses after they found him driving a stolen car and reported finding drugs on him after he was arrested.
Members of the Kane'ohe Police District crime reduction unit were conducting an operation in Kahalu'u when they noticed a suspicious vehicle, police said.
They ran a check on the vehicle and found out a 29-year-old man had reported the car as stolen.
Police reported seeing the driver trying to conceal and envelope in the car which was located later and found to contain what they believed to be crystal methamphetamine and marijuana. The envelope also contained two glass pipes, police said.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of unlawful control of a propelled vehicle, second-degree promotion of dangerous drugs, third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Arrest in reported early-morning robbery
Police arrested a 19-year-old man yesterday in connection with a robbery complaint filed by a 25-year-old man and 19-year-old woman.
The pair told police they were sitting in a car at 3:15 a.m. in Kane'ohe on Aug. 22 when three men approached, restrained them and used force to take their money and personal property away. Police said the couple later identified the three men.
Police yesterday located one of the three men in Kane'ohe and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
Man arrested in punching incident
Police yesterday arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with an assault reported by a 49-year-old man.
The older man told police he was sitting in his car in the 3400 block of Wai'alae Avenue in Kaimuki when the other man approached and accused him of following his wife.
The man who filed the complaint told police the other man reached into his car and punched him in the head and chest several times.
Police said the man reported receiving a deep cut on his head and possible broken ribs.
The suspect, of a Waiomao Road address, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, a felony offense.
Man arrested in sexual assault case involving girl, 10
A 46-year-old man was arrested yesterday at the state Circuit Court building on Punchbowl Street in response to a complaint filed on behalf of a 10-year-old girl who claims the man sexually assaulted her.
The man is described as a "family" member and the girl alleges the assault took place an unknown Kaimuki residence on Jan. 1.
The suspect in the case, who listed a Sumner Street address, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree sexual assault.
