PLAYGROUND WORK SET TO FINISH OCT. 2

LIHU'E — Playground construction at four county parks — Anahola Village, 'Ele'ele Nani, Kapahi and Kekaha — is expected to be completed by Oct. 2.

Site Engineering Inc. is overseeing the $335,398 project.

County Parks Administrator Mel Nishihara said several types of play equipment are being installed at the four parks.

These include a 360-degree spiral slide, a wave slide, a climbing wall, a spiral climbing pole, a balcony deck with steering wheel, and a tic-tac-toe activity panel.

For the younger set, there are two types of ground-level play equipment, a straight crawl tunnel and a gear panel.

In addition, a two-seat swing set was installed for children ages 5 to 12.
