Advertiser Staff
With all of the hoopla surrounding the new smoking laws, there is another law soon going into effect that will have a major impact on families.Starting Jan. 1, children 8-years old and younger will be required to use a child safety seat or booster seat because of safety reasons.
It is a major change from the current law, which states that passengers 4-years old and younger must use a child safety seat.
To help residents cope with the Jan. 1 law and explain how it changes the current rules of road, the State Department of Health and other officials are hosting an 11 a.m. meeting today at the Kinau Hale (1250 Punchbowl St.).
