Victorious UH Wahine to host NCAA Regional here

The 12th-ranked University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team will be heading home for more volleyball.

Sarah Mason had 24 kills and Jaime Houston added 19 as the Rainbow Wahine defeated host Long Beach State, 30-28, 30-25, 24-30, 30-17 tonight in a second-round match of the NCAA Tournament at Long Beach, Calif.

UH will host the Honolulu Regional Friday and Saturday.

UH (28-5) will play No. 6 USC (27-4).

No. 4 UCLA (31-3) will play No. 13 Oklahoma (28-5) in the other regional semifinal.

Houston also had three solo blocks. Setter Kanoe Kamana'o had 58 assists, 12 digs and 3.5 blocks.
