9-foot surf expected on North Shore today

Advertiser Staff

The best surf of the day likely will be found along O'ahu's North Shore, where wave faces of 5 to 9 feet are expected.

Elsewhere, the surf is expected to reach 3 to 5 feet along western shores, 1 to 3 feet along the eastern shore and 2 feet or less along the southern shore.

A moderate northwest swell is due in late tomorrow, or tomorrow night into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A more substantial northwest swell could arrive Thursday if it does not pass by to the north of the state.
