Brennan, UH remain atop NCAA offense statistics

Quarterback Colt Brennan and the University of Hawai'i football team today continued to lead the nation in several NCAA Division I-A statistical categories.

Brennan is tops in the nation in passing efficiency (182.80 rating) and total offense (410.85 yards per game). He also leads the nation in passing yards, with 4,990 and points responsible for (358).

(Passing efficiency ratings are based on passes attempted and completed, yards, passes for touchdowns and interceptions.)

Brennan, with one game remaining, is one TD pass away from matching the single season mark of 54 set by Houston's David Klingler in 1990.

He also has a shot at the single-season passing efficiency record of 183.3 set by Shawn King of Tulane in 1988.

The Warriors (10-3) are No. 1 in passing offense (432.2 yards per game), total offense (549.92 yards per game) and scoring offense (47.31 points per game).

UH receiver Davone Bess is fifth in the nation in receptions per game (7) and 14th in receiving yards per game (88.85). Nate Ilaoa is 12th in all-purpose running, with 129.5 yards per game.

Hawai'i hosts Arizona State in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl on Dec. 24.
