Advertiser Staff

There were more online help-wanted advertisements in Hawai'i than unemployed people looking for work last month, according to a survey by The Conference Board, a New York-based business research organization.

The group found there were 0.88 unemployed people for each advertised vacancy in the state when comparing unemployment data against positions help-wanted online ads.

The Conference Board said states where the number of people looking for work significantly exceeded advertised demand included Mississippi at 5.08 and Michigan at 4.27.

Hawai'i had a 2.1 percent unemployment rate in October, the lowest in the country.
